The District Lofts, Town of Gilbert, Arizona
MD Acoustics has been retained to provide acoustical engineering and noise control services for a 3-story multi-family development, in the Town of Gilbert, AZ. The proposed project was assessed with respect to off-site generated railroad noise and vibration impacts to the project site. The noise and vibration study provides existing noise and vibration levels from the adjacent rail line and abatement measures to minimize the noise and vibration level impact to the structures. The project is the first in Arizona to implement such geotechnical vibration reduction measures into the project design. These reduction techniques are anticipated to reduce vibration levels by at least 10 VdB. In addition, the project has implemented building shell design improvements to reduce airborne noise from pass-by events associated with railroads.
