Mike founded MD Acoustics 13 years ago, growing the company from a single employee to a team of over 30 professionals with diverse, multi-disciplinary expertise. Over the years, he has led the build-out of a state-of-the-art laboratory and three office locations, completed more than 2,000 noise and air quality/greenhouse gas studies, and spearheaded the development of multiple consumer, commercial, and industrial products.

Michael Dickerson Sr. brings over 45 years of expertise in sound, vibration, and controls. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from BYU, his career spans aerospace, defense, space, and private industry. He has contributed to groundbreaking efforts including rocket plume noise modeling, the first Mars Rover at JPL, and unmanned aerial vehicles at AeroVironment, while also presenting research to leading engineering societies. As founder of MD Acoustics, he has directed more than 1,100 noise and vibration assessments, advanced product development, and mentored the next generation of engineers.

He has implemented advanced acoustic intensity techniques for precise noise source identification, evaluated machine conditions, and developed innovative noise control products. Fio has also led facility improvements, optimized acoustics for large venues and specialized environments, and advanced research in noise and vibration to develop cutting-edge solutions.

Bethany has completed over 100+ sound studies throughout her time at MD Acoustics. Bethany was introduced to acoustics as an undergraduate at BYU while working as a research assistant on a project using machine learning to characterize underwater acoustic data from ships. As a graduate student, she researched classroom and speech acoustics, helping develop a real-time system to simulate speech propagation in various environments using impulse responses measured in actual classrooms.
